Annual Meeting Minutes
Annual
Lot Owners Meeting
Minutes
Sept.
09,
2023
Linda Gagne
called the meeting to order at 10:00a.m. She noted that this
was the 100th meeting of the lot owners. Woodland Beach was
formed in June 1923 and was reincorporated as New Beach Association
in 1960.
She asked
that all cell phones be silenced and that everyone stand for the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call of
the board was taken and present was President Linda Gagne,
Vice-President Dan Achauer, Treasurer Bev Betts, and Secretary Pam
Maser. Not present was Bobby Carter.
Approval of
the minutes from September 10, 2022 was asked and Dave Lefevre made
a motion and it was seconded by Tom King. All approved and the
motion carried.
Approval of
the financial statement from May 31, 2022 to May 31, 2023 was asked
and Frank Burlew had some questions with the concerning the
monies from the traffic accidents and Linda explained that the
difference was placed in the general fund. Linda Younglove
made the motion to approve and Dave Lefevre seconded. All approved
and one opposed and the motion carried.
OLD
BUSINESS
Linda held a
discussion on the delinquent accounts. There are 450 accounts and
112 are delinquent. The balance of the delinquent accounts is
$44,934.19. Reminder notices have been sent to them so they
can have a chance to pay without late fees or liens.
A discussion
was held on the blight issues and Linda had some forms that you
could get there to take to the township. Anyone cand turn in blight
and you can remain anonymous.
YEARLY UPDATES
There was no
vote taken due to nobody wanted to sign up for the two trustee
positions. Linda Gagne and Bev Betts have agreed to sign up
again. Linda will be President and Bev is Treasurer.
We have had
two traffic accidents that occurred in December 2022. On Dec. 4,
2022 there was destruction on the Cloverdale landscape. We obtained
the police reports and determined the insurance company. The at
fault drivers insurance company paid $3950.00 and we had the
area repaired and upgraded to rock instead of mulch. We removed the
old landscape borders and did this for $1855.48. The remaining funds
were placed into the general fund.
On December
09, 2022 another accident occurred on Woodland Blvd. A tree
was destroyed and the tree was removed and the grass reseeded and
fixed at the expense of the driver. We filed a claim with the
drivers insurance and received $750.00 for the tree.
We have
repaired the benches at the beach that were vandalized and planted
flowers in the pots on entrances and the park. We repaired the
flagpole ropes and clips and also orders six new flags.
Replacement of a swing and new baby swing was done. A little
library was placed on the dry side at the ball diamond. Mulch
was spread at both playgrounds and the root grounded out. Deaf
person signs were placed at both entrances on Glendale at the
request of the residents. You can go to the Woodland Beach website
for more information and send any pictures if you want. The website
is www.woodlandbeach.org.
There was a
discussion last year about info boards. The cost of one board is
$2000.00 and we would need two. As we have a website everyone felt
there was no need for one.
Linda is
going to get a cell phone for the association as she is currently
using her home phone. The number will be on the December Statement.
OPEN
DISCUSSION
We have had
some major tree damage due to the tornado on June 15, 2023.
The resort authority removed the damaged trees and cleaned up the
branches. We still have three stumps to be removed and they will get
to them as soon as they have the funds. They have items on the
agenda at the Frenchtown meeting on September 13. The funding will
be addressed then as we still have some large branches down from the
latest storm.
Linda asked
for everyone to keep the storm drains clear and to try not to park
on them.
Michelle
Achauer asked that everyone please pick up garbage as you see it.
Frank Burlew
suggested that someone contact Debbie Dingell's office to see if we
can get flags that were flown over the capital. He also asked that
there be a light on the flag on the Blvd..
Someone asked
about the property taxes in the Monroe Evening News. They are
delinquent lots and have liens on them and we will get the funds as
soon as they are sold.
Larry Lafite
asked about getting a dumpster at the garage once a year for bulk
items. We will look further into this as to see what the cost will
be.
A motion was
made to adjourn and Dave LeFevre made a motion and Frank Burlew
seconded. All approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:32a.m.
