Board Meeting Minutes April 14, 2026
New Beach Association, Inc. (Woodland Beach)

Linda Gagne called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Present was President Linda Gagne, Vice-President Al Metdepenningen, Treasurer Bev Betts, Secretary Pam Maser and Trustee David Jewel.  Also present were Pam Metdepennigen and David O'Shea

Approval of the minutes from November 11, 2025, Bev made a motion to accept and Al seconded. All approved and the motion carried.   

Approval of the financial reports from November 2025, December 2025 m January 2026, February 2026 and March 2026.  Bev made a motion to accept and David seconded. 

Unfinished Business 

Al has done some tree trimming and the Resort Authority has removed some dead trees and some of the tree stumps that have been there from the tornado.

David O'Shea gave a demonstration on the disc golf in the park.   A discussion was held and he has nine baskets to donate. He has mapped out a course in the park. It will cost $534.50.  Al made a motion and David Jewel seconded. All approved and the motion carried.  Al is going to be helping David O'Shea with the installation. 

David Jewel is still doing blight.  Linda has been turning in those who park on the grass. There is an ordinance in Frenchtown Township on no parking on lawns and sewer drains.  David is still going to be keeping up on the grasses that need mowed.

The township is waiting on an asphalt company to fix the sinkhole on Lawndale and Parkwood.  

Al Metdepennigen has been added to the checking account. 

New Business

The spring cleaning day will be Saturday May 16 at 10 a.m.  Linda will make up flyers to be distributed.   We will be planting flowers and cleaning up the beach. Linda has some picnic tables to donate and Al is going to look at them to see if they are repairable. 

Pam Metdepennigen has made arrangements for The Monroe County Library bookmobile to come to the beach.  It will be at the ball diamond and you will be able to get a library card. The dates are June 11, July 9, and August 13 from 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Linda has asked for mulch for the playgrounds. Linda made a motion to get the mulch and have Zane do it. Pam seconded and all approved.   

We are going to plant three more trees in the park. Linda made a motion and Bev seconded. All approved and the motion carried.  Two trees will be planted on the beach side and one on the dry side.

Linda has put out the pots for keeping the geese away.

A resident has requested to the board that we make an ordinance for holiday decor.  He suggested thirty days before and thirty days after for the decor to be put up and taken down.  A vote was taken and everyone voted no.  

Open Discussion

We will have the annual garage sale in June.  No date has been chosen yet as we are going to have as the same as Detroit Beaches sale. 

Paula Fodor asked to use the garage for union meetings and Linda has told her that we don't let residents use the garage. We do have tables and chairs available. 

Bev made a motion to adjourn and Linda seconded. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
